Texas Holdem

Poker is a card game of skill, of bluff and of luck. Texas Hold’em – the world’s favourite poker game – is very easy to learn, but only a select few master it. The aim of Hold’em is to create the best five card hand with the two cards in your hand (hole cards) and the five cards on the table (community cards). By the end of the hand then, there will be seven cards available to each player, but only five cards need to be used to make the strongest hand.

7 Card Stud

There are a variety of ways to play stud poker. 7 card stud is the most widespread variation.
The aim of 7 card stud is to create the best 5 card poker hand you can make, by using only 5 of the 7 cards you are dealt. There isn’t a flop in stud poker; the only cards that you can use are the ones in your hand. All players must place an ante in the pot before any cards are dealt (unless stakes are $0.50/$1 or higher). After the antes have been placed in the pot, the dealer then deals each player 3 cards, 2 of which are dealt face down for only the player to see. The other card is dealt face up on the table, allowing the whole table to see it.

Omaha Poker

Omaha is similar to Texas Hold’em, but instead of being dealt two cards face down you are dealt four cards face down before the initial betting round. Then there is a three card flop, followed by another betting round. Next up comes a one card turn, another round of betting, then a one card river and a final round of betting. So the game’s structure is very close to that of Hold’em. Omaha uses a rotation blind system just like Hold’em, and a table usually seats 9-10 players.
